You are cordially invited to join us to grace the occasion on the 125th Anniversary Celebration of the Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue in Mumbai to be held on Sunday, 15th March, 2009 at 5.00p.m. where the President of India, the Governor of Maharashtra and the Ambassador of Israel to India have been invited, among other dignitaries.

Simultaneously, we are also celebrating year of the 100th ‘Hillula’ (anniversary) of our spiritual leader  Hakham Yoseph Hayyim ‘Ben Ish Hai’ of Baghdad and to honour this great spiritual Hakham, Rabbi Ya’aqob Menashe, Rabbanit Ruth Menashe and Sara (nee Menashe) have kindly accepted to grace the occasion and on Rabbi Ya’aqob Menashe will address the honored guests on March 15. In addition, on Wednesday, 18th March, 2009 at 6.30p.m. a speech will be delivered by Rabbi Ya’aqob in connection with this historic event, with a video of the Midrash Ben Ish Hai Boys and Men’s Choir singing songs, at the Magen David Synagogue open-air ground, followed by Kosher Vegetarian dinner.

We hope to release the Postal First Day Cover Cancellation to mark the occasion. Various events and celebrations will be conducted during the course of the year to celebrate the completion of the 125 years.
